Traditional Laura Ashley design that offers a classic feeling
After looking at so many different Laura Ashley bedding sets, you begin to notice that she has a few standard themes. First, you know there's going to be a floral pattern throughout. Second, she seems to rely on this thick border that squares in the design and helps focus your eyes. For your money, you receive the comforter, two pillow shams, and a bed skirt. It's nice to see Laura Ashley provide the bed skirt as many bedding companies don't do this and it reflects the classy look that Laura Ashley goes for.
The comforter is 91 by 95 inches in the queen set and is made from 100 percent cotton. The shams are 20 by 26 inches with a 1 inch flange, and the bed skirt has 5 pleats and split corners to make it cleanly overlap. Overall, the set is classic Laura Ashley to the max, with everything matching her standard options offered.
The design of this set is a square green border with a floral print on the inside. The inside has an ivory base to it to blend in with the floral touches and the design uses black piping to catch the eye. The shams feature a very similar design, with the green border seeming like it is largely just on the two sides.
One thing to keep in mind, is that it is often hard to tell what the set will look like based upon pictures of it. Reviewers on Amazon described nuances that weren't immediately obvious from the images. One reviewer pointed out that the border is more of a sage green, while the inside features more pink accents. Another reviewer noted that the top of the bedding features lifted knitted pieces so there is a texture to the comforter and it isn't as smooth as it could be.
